Jubilant Bhartia Foundation, the social wing of the Jubilant Bhartia Group, was established in 2007. As a part of the Jubilant Bhartia Group, we focus on conceptualizing and implementing the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives for the group. The foundation's objectives include various community development work, health care activities, cultural & sports activities, environment preservation initiative, vocational training, women empowerment and educational activities.

The Jubilant Bhartia Foundation has entered a 4-year partnership with the Schwab Foundation of Social Entrepreneurship to run the Social Entrepreneur of the Year (SEOY) Award in India.

Social Entrepreneurs are pragmatic visionaries who have launched and successfully implemented path-breaking innovative ideas to address society’s most pressing social problems. They drive social innovation and transformation in areas such as energy efficiency, education, waste management, health, education, youth and rural development. They emphasize long-term sustainability instead of short-term gains and pursue their social change goals with entrepreneurial zeal, business methods and the courage to innovate and overcome traditional practices. Whether they set up for-profit entities, hybrid social ventures or not-for-profit organizations, the primary focus of social entrepreneurs is always transformational social change.

Benefits
The India Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2010 provides unprecedented opportunities to the winner (s) to engage with global decision makers from the public, corporate, media and academic sectors to strengthen and expand their model. Specifically, the Award benefits for the winner (s) will include participation in the India Economic Summit and regional meetings of the World Economic Forum, inclusion in the Schwab Foundation network of leading social entrepreneurs, possible nomination/s to the Forum of Young Global Leaders and the Global Agenda Council, and eligibility to participate in the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
