Jubilants Approach

As a responsible manufacturer and importer of chemicals in Europe,
Jubilant is committed to meeting the legal obligations that arise
due to REACH or any other regulation.
The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and
the environment through the better and earlier identification of the
intrinsic properties of chemical substances. The objective of this
regulation is entirely consistent with the Jubilants corporate
sustainability Report and EHS policy of Complying with
relevant standards on environment and Occupational health and safety.
What is REACH

REACH is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their
safe use (EC 1907/2006). It deals with the Registration, Evaluation,
Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances.
REACH legislation became effective in EU member states on 1 June
2007. For substances covered by its registration requirements,
deadlines for manufacturers and importers of these substances are as
follows:
- 1 December 2010: Full registration of substances greater than
1,000 tonnes/annum/ legal entity and high-concern substances
- 1 June 2013: Full registration of substances greater than 100
tonnes/annum/legal entity
- 1 June 2018: Full registration of substances greater than 1
tonne/annum/legal entity
A Transported Isolated Intermediate(TII) is a substance
manufactured for or used for chemical processing in order to be
transformed into another substance. Many of our Products fall under
this category.

CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008) is the European Regulation on
Classification, Labelling and Packaging of chemical substances and
mixtures. The legislation introduces throughout the EU a new system
for classifying and labelling chemicals, based on the United Nations
Globally Harmonised System (UN GHS).
Jubilants Commitments

Jubilant has pre-registered all substances in its current portfolio
for which it has responsibilities and obligations to do so under
REACH. Having complied with pre-registration deadlines in 2008, we
have now also completed registration of those substances that were
required to be submitted by 1 December 2010. Complete compliance
with REACH depends on the close co-operation of manufacturers,
importers and their chemical suppliers and customers. As a
manufacturer of chemicals, Jubilant will have those substances of
its product portfolio registered as stipulated by the Customer and
submit the dossier required for this to the European Chemicals
Authority Agency (ECHA). For this purpose, it will cooperate closely
with its customers and support them as far as possible.
With the vast amount of knowledge and expertise Jubilant has gained
in the registration process, we are already looking ahead and
working closely with our customers for the
Next phases of REACH

Coordination of all REACH-related actions within Jubilant is guided
by a corporate Steering Group. By having a dedicated REACH team,
supported by global resources, including a database of REACH
contacts and web information, the company is aiming to cater to all
customers requirements.
